I know this is a politically incorrect remark/question, but I don’t care. How many people will die because of this?
To be fair, none of this started with Obama, but there will be great consequences to this particular overhaul/takeover. I think they will be extremely negative, but Austrian economics cannot take me beyond this point. So I wonder, how many?
If you construct an imaginary status-quo universe operating in parallel to the one with Obama Care, how many more lives and more sick people will be sacrificed for the socialist agenda?
Obama and his buds are taking over the system to finance health care. That means that individuals will not be able purchase health care they need to save themselves. They will infact depend on the bureaucracy for these things. The bureaucracy will determine how to fund all medicine and the development of all medicines. It will determine when and under what circumstances people will receive services. It will determine what medications people can take and what they can not have.
If you believe this competing with the private sector crap, you will be proven wrong. The government can simply legislate the private insurers out of business or better yet pass a law that private insurers can get their pants sued off and the govt with soverign immunity (A term soon to be very common in everyday language as the medical practicioners drop their giant insurance payments (Normally 100,000 per year and up) to work solely for the government.
