Is that it? They said something about another vote?
Balls. Fortunatly I think think that it needs to be passed through the house again.
Nothing to worry about. More than 50% of the USA health care spending is government spending and 70% is done by government or third parties. So the government taking over the difference is actually not that big of a deal. It is sad that Obama is only going to destroy the last remnants of a pricing system in the delivery of most health care. (Austrians believe that prices determine the structure of production) The consequence is predictable: Less investment, lower qualities of life of health care providers, more licensing and regulation, higher prices and a whole ton of new rationing.
Look at the health systems of socialist countries? Are they really that different from what we have here now?
I actually feel sorry for the exact group of folks this bill is supposed to help, they are the ONLY ones keeping the prices of medical services and products down as the are bypassing the insanity of 3rd party paid anything. They will get screwed as the government coerces (Incentivises) medical professionals to join their disaster instead of just charging on the side.

I thought this had kinda died… goddammit…
That’s what you call nothing to worry about?
They still have to reconcile the two bills, but they’re probably gonna end up with the individual mandate, a ban on using pre-existing conditions to select people for health insurance, government subsidies for people who can’t afford insurance and maybe even an online exchange. Hopefully they don’t get the strong public option or medicare expansion through at the end though.
Let us drink!
