Both those of the political left and right can agree that the relationship between Wall St and Washington is too close. However, the left would argue that corporations control Washington. The right that Washington controls corporations. Consider the following diagram: http://i.imgur.com/t1onp.jpg
Most businesses that start out with self-made individuals, like Disney for example, end up becoming so big and so power hungry that despite their past of breaking laws (like copyright, in the case of Disney) in the name of the advancement of their business they end up lobbying for and advocating the very same laws they dodged to get started.
The government is just a special group of people set aside to manage the rest of society by those with so much power that are too busy to do it themselves. The problem is authoritarianism, not just government or just corporatism.
Authoritarianism…you mean like dictating that one man having something another man wants is “unfair”, and it should therefore be taken from the first man and handed over to the second man?
How about “Ignore Pennsylvania Avenue” and “Laugh at Langley” movements instead? As the narcissist that it is, Leviathan hates nothing more than mockery and diffidence.
