Finally decided to register on this site. Long-time fan of the LvMI, Mises.org, and LRC. Started out politically as a Bush-supporting Republican (forgive me!), then was a minarchist for a long time, before finally embracing the anarcho-capitalist position. Nothing terribly unusual there, I’m sure. ![]()
Hm… I wonder, how many there are liberals (democrats) who used to support Obama and after they saw, that he was just another piece of shit converted to libertarianism… Just curious.
Haha. sort of guilty, more of still “in the transition.” But I knew Obama was a douche going in, and McCain a crap-sandwich. But I believe democracy, being much more open than any system of governance in practice today, can be used to further the cause of liberty, and ergo… a douche at least cleans something.
Odysseus’ grandfather or lone wolf?
No need to ask for forgiveness; I imagine a lot of people who discovered mises.org, etc. in recent years were former Bush supporters who decided to make the journey from Chicago to Austria; to dispense with the illusion of free market philosophy and embrace the real thing.
I used to read national review online everyday. Now it’s lewrockwell.com. The only site I regularly visit from my “neocon” days is townhall.com, where I maintain (more or less) a blog and argue the Austrian perspective to the other posters.

I was a pretty hard core leftist for my first 28 years. I ditched before Obammer though, in the last year of Bush’s presidency. I learned a very very different lesson from the Bush years than most of my liberal peers.
Thank you for participating. I’m happy you decided to register.
