Out of curiosity, what is the AE (and everyone here's) position on the State of Israel and the US relation to it?

So now we all are expected to act like Mother Theresa?

You asked if anyone was persuaded by morality. The answer to that would be yes if one person were. This doesn’t make morality the best form of self-defense, but that wasn’t the question you asked.

I believe you, Katz! I know SOME people care about good and bad right and wrong. But your game only works on them. What about people like me? How are you going to deal with people like me?? Or people much much more inclined to do whatever pleases them than I?

Alright, so you’ve got a system that might only apply to a VERY small percentage of the population. Do you see a potential problem here?

Yes, this would be a good answer if it were a game. But again, the purpose of morality is not to constrain people, it is to be true in itself. You want to undertake immoral actions because of a desire to constrain people from harming others. Do you not see the contradiction?

What flaws in reasoning, and apparently I have to hold you by the hand and explain why the consensus is the capitalism does not work…

The consensus, outside of LvMI, is proposed because the false claim that we were at some point a Laissez Faire Capitalist Country, the fact is the government short 20 years after the revolution had its hands in business, thus we were not LFC at all. The notion that LFC failed was based on the great depression and the recessions that followed, not noting that the government was shoulder deep and deepening its involvement in the market ever since…

The same will happen to a small pocket society, its failure will be from the people who fear free people the most, governments, if there is a failure at all?

And well if government coercion is your justification of a coercive government, I cannot help you, that is a statism you have to live with or shed on your own through educating yourself, and you have already made that choice…

Man, this is all a big game. Morality does constrain people because it tells them what they can and cannot do. I also don’t see what immoral action I’m proposing undertaking?

does morality constrain people or does it not?

answer: it should constrain them,
and it does constrain some,
and does not constrain others.

So what you’re saying is that if your anarchist area fails it will be because it was never an anarchist area to begin with? Lol. But what if it was?

And you’re right about laissez faire capitalism. But the thing is that…laissez faire has been tried and proven to work. Anarchy has not.

Bam, magical NirgrahamUK with a home run! I’m concerned about that third group myself.

influencing them to adopt morality is at least worth a try so much as fighting them off.

it can’t have been laissez faire if they did not have anarchy.

LOL!! You’d make a good lawyer. What do they call that? Equating two things that aren’t mutually inclusive…I can’t remember, but it’s a logic trick.

but you are forgetting that the production of ‘law’ and the production of ‘security’ are both goods that can be provided by the freemarket, and so when the state monopolises those functions, you dont have laissez faire any more than if you had monopolized health services.

Wise man once say: Do not appeal to a man’s better side because he may not have one, it is wiser to appeal to his self interest.

Equating laws and security with health services now. Very tricky magicgrahamUK.

a mans self-interest is his better side, when he is at least moral.

I can’t take all the credit.

Have you heard of Molinari, published in 1849 ? http://mises.org/resources/2716

O god, now I have to read something that argues that the institutions of force and of medicine are so fundamentally similar that they both operate on a free market in the same way? I’ve got a book here called “Steady-State Economics”, it argues that there are ways to institute government controls to insure populations remain stable and that resource depletion will be negated and that all markets operate the same way and can be centralized. You know what they both have in common? They are both nonsense. DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT THE ARGUMENT THAT ALL MARKETS PERFORM THE SAME WAY IS THE SAME ARGUMENT SOCIALISTS MAKE TO EXPLAIN CENTRALIZATION???

now you are being hysterical and silly.
