I’m a Christian and he doesn’t speak for me.
He keeps talking about justice and yet seems to have a somewhat unbiblical concept of it: Biblically it is a transgression against a man or God- who does CO2 transgress against?
In short Christianised socialist clap trap merged with pseudo enviornmental terms, such as renewable energy.
Any way the Parliament on World religions seems not to be a parliament world of religions but a parliament of the world religion.
Well, I think it was a Canadian who said that even if the Global Warming weren’t man made it would be the best shot at bringing about income redistribution and central planning. There you have it: remember that organized religions don’t give a damn about giving you sound moral principles or help you save your immortal soul but are nothing more than an extension of the State. The Crown and the Altar, as the French said.
Look at the Catholic Church record for starters: I think the last Pope to speak out in favor of private property and personal ethics was Leon XIII. Then it has been a steady descent into nothingness, ending with the present Pope who seems more bent on appeasing Israel, the EU and preaching Collectivism than trying to teach his faithful how to save their souls.
I have already decided I’ll have my name struck from the baptized list. If your local law allow it I suggest you do the same. You can be a good Christian without belonging to an organized church.

that’s because he’s not talking about “Justice”, but “Social Justice”, a whole 'nother thing.
Too many of your central & ‘leftist’ churches/denominations have glommed onto social justice and gone beyond ‘let’s help the poor’ to ‘let’s help the poor’ to the fruits of other’s labor thru ‘social justice’ and other socialist nonsense.
It has always somewhat suprising to me to see traditional religions (especially Xtianity) try to align themselves with whatever style of political leftism is vogue at the moment. It is a matter of simple Machiavellian logic that you do not ally yourself with the group who has the most control (which I believe the left has had for quite some time), especially when, at it’s core, that group is almost completley opposed to traditional religions.
How often do you see Progressives rail on and on against various horrors of the Catholic Church vs how often they will acknowledge the Catholic Church as a positive force of “social justice”? I think it is no contest as to where they stand. Any Christian group allied with Progressive politics is a poster child for a “useful idiot”. It really is a 101 “how to” guid on using willing idiocy well when you have the position to be the bully.

Hmm… I’ve never understood some of these men and women, that come out in favor against a “matrix of free exchanges”, as Thomas Woods like to call it. Especially, when the Bible preaches the exact opposite of what these preachers are pontificating to ignorant, docile masses.
As an Orthodox Christian, I am offended by these “preachers”.
While I am most certainly not one to define what any sect of Christian says what Jesus did or did not do, I would find that suprising to, as he clearly (in the Catholic NT anyways) annoyed Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Imperials and I think implicitly annoyed the Zealots as well.
If (like me) you grew up in a somewhat insulated Orthodox environment, understanding Protestantism is a major factor to see where most people (In at least the US anyway) are comming from; politicaly, spiritualy (even atheism), philisophicaly for me Protestantism is something that had tot be studied in order to be more productive in dialogue. I am not even a religious person and I had trouble relating.
With the exception of social interaction, I’m always extremely suspicious of any otherwise ordinary thing being labeled “social”. I question why it needs such an appelation, and why ordinary justice\markets\etc are not sufficient.
I don’t know what the fuck the church is doing. If they stuck to their principles, and fought the state, they would become relevant real quick.
Sadly, the (Western, Anglican) Church has lost most of it’s core by selling out to modern PC values and replacing the gospel of Christ with that of Marx and Gaia. Ironically, it seems to be the African and Oriental churches that have the most faithful followers, since South America is mired in Marxism and fascism. Though, perhaps the Eastern Orthodox Church has something to be said with it.. I’m not so familiar with Russian religious politics, only knowing that Stalin had a complex relationship with them and that Lenin banned them, and that they could potentially be a powerful revivalist force against the Russian government.
The Serbians are becoming increasingly liberal and pro market. I’ve talked to many who are interested in Austrian economics. Though I don’t know if this is a reflection of the Orthodox church.
