Marxist socialist populist ideas have become the mainstream view of the entire world over the last century. People who should know better say that Christianity is communism because the disciples of Jesus held a common purse. No one ever asks why Christianity has flourished and is the world’s largest religion after two millennium while Marxist communism could not last a century in Russia and is a catastrophic failure wherever it is implemented.
The obvious answer is Freedom. People are free to chose to join or leave the churches but communists do not allow their sheep much latitude in any sphere. Consequently the slaves of communism risk their very lives buying the necessities of life on the black market or attempting to run away.
So it is that supporters of the state are advocates of slavery. Liberation Theology is an Orwellian name for an egalitarian slavery. It’s supporters would exchange the current winner-takes-all spoils system for a communist tyranny.
