Good question. The Mises Institute maintains that IP is illegitimate, and therefore publishes all works that it holds copyright to under under the CC-BY-3.0 license.
The works are offered in digital form free of charge for a reason…namely to maximize exposure and reading of the literature.
In fact, the entire Mises.org website is made available for download via torrents created by the LvMI itself.
