Interesting to observe the comments at Hot Air. They love Schiff, and many of them don’t seem to have heard of him before. A few stealth Ron Paulians are playfully noting that he’s a Ron Paul guy, the (correct) implication being that no other candidate can boast people of Peter’s caliber, whom the Hot Air people admit they love.
(there is a bit of overlap in some of this footage, but the vast majority of it is different. And even the parts that overlap, you have better quality in one video, and in the lower quality you get to hear outside commentary)…
Either Michael Moore movies aren’t that profitable for him, or he’s having a real identity crisis.

MORGAN: What’s the matter with you?

MORGAN: You crazy man. He makes a good point. You’re in the 1 percent?
MOORE: I’m not in the 1 percent.
MORGAN: Probably 0.2 percent?
MOORE: No.
MORGAN: You’re one of the most successful filmmakers in the country.
MOORE: No, I’m not. For a documentary filmmaker, I’m doing well.

The problem these protestors have with people like schiff(like the guy calling him an idiot) is that he assumes that Peter is a racist white guy who hates to see people pull themselves out of poverty- when its quite the opposite and he’s the one who’s actually fighting for it. It made me laugh when he said “Doesn’t everyone want lower prices” and people said “No!!” .
Most people have not read smith because his book is so boring and irrelevant to the 21st century, that they just assume what people have told them of smith.
Excellent videos of Schiff talking to the occupiers. I love when he said “I’ve employed 150 people. How many have you employed?”
Also, I like when he questioned the, “I’m also in the 1%, and your making us look bad” lady. She seems eager enough to talk about paying out more. Like he said, “No one stops you from paying more taxes.” So why doesn’t she? I get the impression she is as much in the 1% as Michael Moore is in the 99.
That’s right, they didn’t read Smith “wealth of nations” and even less will know that he wrote books on moral philosophy as well. I don’t however think his books are that boring nor irrelevant to our time. In fact it’s pretty well written and makes common sense even in the postmodern era.
I’m not sure what to believe with Occupy Wall Street. If they would just get organized and send a clear message about what they stand for, then perhaps I could actually make a decision on whether or not I love them or hate them. Because from what I’ve seen, it’s this clusterf*** of socialists, democrats, communists, anarcho-sydicalists, libertarians, etc.
I also agree with you. I myself too did not like the book of smith. There are so many points mentioned there which are vauleless in this century. But there are a few points which are very good but they are very les in number.
