Nearly every single army ever. Name a victorious military force which you would consider to be market-based.

How can you ask for evidence when your thesis is that markets are a priori defunct at this provision?

Why was Sputnik the first satelite in space? Because the Soviet Union could deploy resources effectively to achieve certain goals (like, putting Sputnik into space). It wasn’t efficient - investing so much in heavy industry and high technology involved starving the peasants, for example. Nevertheless, it effectively got Sputnik into space before any rival state, and long, long before any private company.

That a centrally planned system is capable of focusing resources does not mean the market can’t either.
