Raw Foods: Healthy and 83% More Economically Efficient?

Ann Wigmore did a study which demonstrated that 83% of the food’s nutritional value is lost in the process of cooking. That means that 83% of the TIME, LABOR, and RESOURCES which went into creating that food are also destroyed by cooking.”

Could raw foods not only lead us to being healthier, but lead us to being economically much more efficient?

comments?

edit:

the above interview does not talk as much about great things to eat and why they are great for you…here’s a great interview with david that does that:

People don’t care about nutrition.

IMHO, yes it is healthier, but not necessarily economically efficient.

I myself went raw for a bit of time, and while I was healthy, it is a lot more time consuming to do so. Who woud have thought not “cooking” your food would increase food preparation time?

On top of that, raw restaruants are more expensive to eat at than cooked vegan/vegetarian restaruants, at least in this day in age.

“I myself went raw for a bit of time, and while I was healthy, it is a lot more time consuming to do so.”

this interview below goes into more detail about a typical day and what he eats…it really doesn’t seem that time consuming.

i think it may depend on how you like your raw food “cooked”.

“i think it may depend on how you like your raw food “cooked”.”

Waahhhh waahhhhh…

: )

are you thinking of going raw yourself?

“are you thinking of going raw yourself?”

no, but when i read some of this guy’s stuff, it definetely inspires me to cut back on my processed foods and try to eat more fruits and veggies…and take more whole foods supplements, like camu powder inside of ascorbic acid for my vitamin c intake.

and it also changes my opinion of what makes up a meal…kind of opening my eyes as to what a meal could be.
