One of the strange things I have learned in Clown World is the surprising effectiveness of memes. A meme is like a joke – it usually oversimplifies things, but the more truth it has, the harder it hits. So, a pithy meme, like a pithy joke, can be very effective despite having little, if any, factual content. It hits at a sub-rational level, but the bell only rings loudly if you’re hitting on truth. So, despite the extreme low-bandwidth of memes, in terms of communicating rational ideas with a high degree of accuracy, good memes are on the side of truth, which puts them on the same side of the argument as Austrian Economics. Which is why real Austrian memes hit like a ton of bricks…
