Stephen Zarlenga's "The Lost Science of Money" and his attack on the Austrian School

Fellow Austrians,

when I listened to Gnostic Media’s interview with Dr. Zarlenga, he made several outragous and directly false claims and smeared the Austrians outright. I don’t think he nor the host Jan Irwin should get away with it. I do hope that prominent Austrians find the time to listen to the gnosticmedia interview with Dr. Zarlenga and set him straight.

As can be deduced by the title of his book, much of it concerned monetary theory, but also economic history. Therefore, it should be of particular interest to Joe Salerno, Lew Rockwell, Bob Higgs, Thomas DiLorenzo and Thomas Woods.

I have engaged Mr. Irwin in a small debate on the comments page of the bloggpost.

However, I do wish to point out that not everything Dr. Zarlenga says is rubbish. For instance, he advocates the abolition of fractional reserve banking.

All of this constant smearing against AS is such a good sign. To think that, what, %1 or less of all economists are Austrians and yet they they spend this much effort fighting it. That’s when you know they are scared.

I dunno if that is the case or not, having not listened to it. Zionism isn’t the entirety of Judaism, to be fair (especially the modern definition: support for Israeli state religion).

But it does seem to be very much a hippie dippy site in general. Books on shamanism, the occult, mushrooms, astrology, etc. Not to put them down, but I wonder if they are nerdy economists who would look into, for instance, an attack on the Austrian school. Or if they are really just looking for something weird or new and will accept anything someone says.
