I too would arm myself to the teeth. Then I would try to get together with as many of my friends as possible and make sure they too were armed to the teeth. Then ‘we’ would determine the bast place we could fortify ourself and we would fortify and arm that place to the teeth. Then all that done, I would set about forming a business plan and pray that the anarchists are right, that this can all work without degenerating into warring gangs.
I would not move to restore a Constitutional Republic. I believe in freedom and in that circumstance would believe that absolute freedom needs to be given the chance.
Note however that the first thing I have done is to set up and fortify my own gang.

Personally, Monday is my day off so I would most likely mow my lawn. If it was Wednesday I would get up and go to work: I’ve got bills to pay.

I definitely would get in touch with my neighbors and see if we can figure out how we can cooperate and respect each other’s property. Establish mutual aid and defense, or at least feel out the possibility for such.
Because the viability of anarchy is dependant upon certain things, namely, the institutions of the family and the church and a type of people who are inegalitarian and indepedant, and who eschew envy and laziness. The state has effectively made people depend on the state or others, and as Hoppe so brilliantly demonstrated raised the time preference of everybody in society, so people are characterised by an envious mindset that leads them to disrespect property rights for instant gain.
Now, after a while the market would effectively tell these people to shape up or be weeded out, but not instantly.
Also, whilst the market process will work to bring supply of defense into equilbrium with demand for defense, it will not do so immediately, meaning that whatever form of security may arise to begin with will be shakey. I’d rather rely on myself, and to do so I would need weapons.
Agreed. I guess the point I was trying to make was this: Most people think that in the absence of the state there would be roving gangs of murderers, child molesters, and people enslaving the homeless guy who lives under the bridge.
I think most people would be too busy running their own lives to do these things. I’m just not that scared. Granted I would buy a gun or two.

Make profits. I.e. go raise some capital to start a private property defense insurance company, now that the compulsory monopoly on that service has been lifted.
It seems to me that, if such a thing as anarcho-capitalism is ever feasible, the private defense companies will have emerged before the end of the state as such.
