The difference between Classical Liberals and Libertarians.

I neither stated nor implied anyone was a “nut” but Rothbard is clearly the most prominent figure in the anarcho-capitalist movement.

Again you do not define words. No definition of the word Libertarian in any dictionary mentions anything about “force” or “anarchy”. The only reason I use the phrase “limited government libertarian” is to make it crystal clear to the anarchists who do not understand the definition of common english language words where my position lies.

Minarchists and Anarcho-Capitalists can both be called Libertarians and there is nothing you can do about it.

Ayn Rand was neither a classical liberal nor libertarian. Unless you include her in the sense that many people who are classical liberal or libertarian have been influenced by her ideas.

Prominent minarchists after Rothbard? [:|]

lolz..

What do you mean by after? After his birth? After his death? After some publication?

There is no “movement”. The four minarchists you named, none of them were the band leaders of minarchism. You’re just cobbling together random stuff.

If you want to play semantic games, do it somewhere else. You’ve been told this no less than a half dozen times already. Dictionary definitions, which characterize libertarianism as a political ideology are false.

Again, this has been explained to you numerous times. “limited government libertarian” is like being “a little pregnant”. You either are a libertarian, or not. To qualify it with limited government is completely nonsensical. Does that mean there are “big government libertarians”? Of course not.

You can call yourself a purple dinosaur for all I care. It doesn’t change what is. Minarchists are not libertarians. They are small government liberals at best.

Until you give up aggressive violence as a means of social organization, you will not be a libertarian.

I never claimed they were band leaders of anything. I simply mentioned four of the most prominent names.

There are no games only formal definitions of words that are used in the English language so we can communicate properly. Sorry if I never accept your fabricated definition of words over the dictionary.

This is only a problem if you do not understand the definition of words or try to create your own definitions. It must be fun watching you try to talk to people who know how to use dictionaries

Nope, I’m a libertarian by definition.

Libertarian - “One who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state.”

Sorry you do not decide libertarian qualifications or the definition of words. Aggressive violence has nothing to do with the definition.

I skimmed your post and you are still playing semantic games.

Did you ever read Kinsella’s article I linked you to 3 times? Is he incorrect about the definition of libertarianism?

What about Messrs Hoppe, Block and Rockwell. Are they also incorrect?

you made it clear you dont advocate maximizing individual rights. (you just like lots more of it than most other people)

you made it clear you don’t advocating minimizing the role of the state. (you want to keep some around to oppress people)

I on the other hand am a Libertarian.

Properly defining words is basic English.

Kinsella is not a dictionary and has no power to redefine words.

I guess you need to correct Dr. Block.

“At the end of this process I was converted to libertarianism. I devoured both books and became a strong adherent of what I now know as the limited government libertarian position or minarchism.”

maximizing (defined) - “to make something as great in amount, size or importance as possible

It does not say eliminate, it says minimizing.

You do know the definition of common English language words?

its possible to have more than you credit. so you dont advocate that larger amount that is possible. hence you are not a libertarian.

what is the minimum number of apples you can have in your fruit bowl?

It is a subjective not definitive position. I am a libertarian by definition. Show me the definition from a dictionary that states no government.

Why is the word minimize used and not eliminate?

I really wish that Hayek had created a better term in The Constitution of Liberty for his political positions so that libertarian minarchists could simply relinquish the term “libertarian” to Rothbardians while still having a common epithet.

Did you read it or not? If so, where was Kinsella wrong?

If you didn’t read it, why not?

So?

I guess you missed the end of the article.

It took me a matter of hours to be converted to libertarian minarchism. It took a matter of minutes, I was so ready for it, I had invested so much into the preliminaries of it, to see the light on anarcho-capitalism. Austrianism took months, maybe years; in a sense, many years later, now, I am still working on it. Such is the story of my beginnings in the movement.

Block is an anarchist. So I will ask again, are Hoppe, Block and Rockwell wrong?

It’s irrelevant. The definition is incorrect.

You’re just playing games as usual. What you don’t want to do, is debate ideas. Which is why you continue with the pointless semantic arguments.

You want your monopoly state, and you want your coercive government. That’s why you are not a libertarian.

That is unless you don’t support the monopoly state or coercion. Which is it?

ROFLMAO!!! So the dictionary is wrong? [:O]

No what I want is for people to stop misusing words. If you want to stop arguing the definitions of words don’t try to define them by made up definitions.

my dictionary doesn’t know what thymology is.

Kinsella is not a dictionary so his views are irrelevant

You are saying Block is wrong by using the phrase “limited government libertarian”.

The dictionary is a red herring.

Do you support monopoly government, yes or no?

Do you support coercion, yes or no?

Did you read Kinsella’s article, yes or no?

Is he right or wrong?

Kinsella is an LvMI scholar, and you are at LvMI. Still want to maintain that his work for mises.org is irrelevant?

No, I’m saying it is irrelevant because Block is an anarchist. So I will ask again, are Hoppe, Block and Rockwell wrong?
