The 2011 Tucson shooting occurred on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Eighteen people were shot, six of them fatally, during a United States congresswoman’s meeting with constituents held in a supermarket parking lot in Casas Adobes, a suburb of Tucson.[4][5] The dead include a nine-year-old girl; a congressional aide; and John McCarthy Roll, the chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.[4][1][5] U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, a Democrat representing Arizona’s 8th congressional district, said to be the target of the attack,[4] was shot through the head at close range and is in critical condition.[5][6][4] A 22-year-old local man, Jared Lee Loughner, was arrested at the scene,[3] and is being questioned by the FBI.[4] The motive for the shooting is currently unclear, with media reports focusing on the mental health of the shooter.[7]

Any takes on this one, and especially what political consequences do you expect?
If she pulls through this will help her political career. The left is blaming the right, the right is blaming the left. after months of debating wether he is a commie or an ancap we will realize he is just nuts then leave him alone for a bit until we hear he has killed himself at which point there will be a flurry of documentaries, one of which will be interesting the rest will suck. after that it will sink into the debths of wikipedia for ever.
This dude is full on batshit nuts. Like the other guy said, both sides will probably try to use it as some sort of political maneuver. Probably the right less than the left because they have less to grab on to. The left has the gun control angle. They’re already talking like an extended magazine on a pistol converts it to a relentless death machine. Luckily a lot of his ramblings are so over the top it will be hard to pin an ideology on him (Grammar is mind control…).
I don’t think that she’ll come out of it very well. A “through and through” shot to the head is pretty nasty. She could always get really lucky but my gut tells me she’s either going in the ground or will wind up being the next Brady.
