It seems that up to 4% of the human genome comes from the extinct species, showing first signs of evidence that mating occured with Homo Sapiens. Could this explain mental illness ot other diseses?
I watched this series on Cro-Magnon vs. Neanderthals last weekend and some of the same scientists mentioned in that article are in the video too. IIRC, they said that at the time it was very hard to get DNA samples that weren’t compromised and sample sizes were still too small.

A lot of diseases are a result of eating foods like refined grains, plant oils, and sugar which our bodies, for the most part, are not adapted to eating. See the thread on Gary Taubes.
While watching the linked video a thought occurred to me. Would spillover costs of technology have been easier during primitive times? Would it have been easier to adapt others technological advancements then as opposed to the recent past or now?

I think it is cool that we might have some Neanderthal in us. And since the Neanderthal’s lived in Europe, I would expect whites to have a higher rate.
I’ve heard that some white prison gangs nickname eachother “cave man”, so this just makes it much cooler.
