Unsung heroes of Individualism?

I am wondering how many people who have come to the individualistic conclusions of the Rothbardian/Misesian (or “Austrian”) message of liberty have done so through other people in history. I wonder because looking back on the course of my life, I know I got on the path of individualism as an admirer of Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee studied and taught all kinds of different forms of martial arts and came to the conclusion that it is really about self-discovery and self-expression. His ideas had a great influence on me, and were transferred into the political realm, unfortunately, when I was already in the military, and ultimately lead to my getting out of the military and taking to the ideas of Ron Paul in 2007, and from there to the economic realm of the Austrian school. Bruce Lee should be known as a hero of individualism in my view; I recommend everyone check out the so-called lost interview with Bruce posted by spasmomat on youtube. Did you come to individualism through some un-known or unsung hero? and if so, who?
