O yeah Alan Wake looks sick.
‘I’m looking forward to Red Dead Redemption.’
Finally something we agree on Bloom!
Hey if you guys are interested in getting news on developer teams and the gaming community in general then I suggest you head over to Epicbattleaxe.com and listen to their podcasts. They are very funny and informative. For a mature audience [ cursing ] only.
HOI2 always was fun.
Originally, I just did silly things with the “Acceptall” cheat (I assembled a massive coalition of minor nations around the Soviets like Poland, Czech, Finns, Baltics, Turks, Persians, etc and bum-rushed them to see if I could win, though it didn’t work and the Soviets become a huge blob by the time it was over), but some mods make for some great tricks.
For an awesome experience(warning: Takes about half an hour of setting up):
-Get the “New Nations Mod” (Use JSGME)
-Start a game in '36
-Pick a random Major faction (Italy, Spain, and Canada count, but China doesn’t)
-Constantly switch ministers to rise dissent to 100%
-Use “FREEDOM” cheat to put your sliders on 2 away from full closed society (or else GB simply blows up and the colonies do nothing)
-Save game, repeat until you have dissent’d all major factions
-Pick a small faction, watch the fireworks
Weirdly enough, Germany generally survives mostly intact whereas the Soviets completely crumble very fast. Africa becomes a war zone, India can become quite interesting as Britain really, really likes to shove its troops there (Burma rises quite fast, so the war there can be big), and the world is totally changed.
For extra fun, pick a random emergent and see if you can unify your country/conquer the world (For best effect, try a Russian emergent, though Africans and South East Asians can do well too).
Red Dead Redemption does look awesome.
That being said. Super Street Fighter 4 all day.
Anything with the name Xeno, Civilization (“the game”), some “Tycoon” games, Ico, Shadow of the Collosus, Persona, Europa Univeralis.
I actually kind of hate most Western RPG’s, mmorpgs, and those “resource gathering” real time games; unfortunatly for me the market seems to like them at this point in time

I’m actually going to be formulating a posse that deals out libertarian justice. If anyone is on the PS3 and actually going to get this game, send me a private message and I will friend you on PSN.

lol I played World of Warcraft for a month before I realized it would ruin my life. Gotta one up the rest of the people here! Gotta get the best new gear! Felt like I was playing the game just so I can play the game. I do respect the people that figured out how to make “real” cash by selling their WoW leveling up services though. Japanese RPGS are more my thing- nice epic(even if its cliché) story, fun and pretty looking battle systems- and once I reach the “end” not much reason in playing it again so time to move on to something else. With MMORPGS ya gotta like plan your life around those things(or make the choice to MAKE IT YOUR LIFE).
I’d support minimum wage laws to get a Shadow of Colossus 2 for Playstation 3! That game was gorgeously fun.

They certainly used to be more my thing, but unfortunatly they got a little stale (FFXIII was not very good) particularly with the story telling. Though I hear the DS (a system which I do not own) is putting out good RPGS. I definetly like the aesthetics more of the Japanese RPG’s when being very broad and stereotypical of the difference in style.

This is actually psychology. It is a (relatively) quicker benefit/rewards thing and a sense of control and accomplishment that most people don’t have in their daily lives that can make things like this addicting. I don’t really play these games (like I said , it just isn’t my genre), but it is to my understanding that no matter how many hours you play, or how good you get, you will always lose to a seven year old Korean girl; this may be a good way to break WoW addiction.
As for the Koreans with Wow addiction:

Sorry about your luck
I thought FF13 had the best battle system of all the FF games- game didn’t really pick up till about 15-20 hrs though. And its just sooo pretty to look at what can I do but enjoy it.
Yeah when I first started World of Warcraft I would think that the initial quests are just like a beginner thing and once I get a mount or get to a certain town things would really pick up or something. Then I realized what the true essence of the game was(what you just described), I got turned-off to it. MMORPG’s are all the rage now left and right. These guys figured out the secret to truly sucking a person into another world.
@Andrew, how’s the libertarian justice thing gonna work?
I play Modern Warfare 2 on PC. I run around with an Intervention bolt-action sniper rifle and an M9 pistol. I’ve been sniping exclusively the last few months. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to be a match-up against people with assault-rifles in short-range situations. But that work has had a pay-off because now I win most free-for-alls (8 people on the map, constantly respawning, everyone is your enemy; first to 30 kills wins), and I was called a cheater twice last weekend; heh. No sir, that’s skill.
My Buddy, will you message me so you can invite me to erepublik? Or turn on the ability for people to message you?
‘@Andrew, how’s the libertarian justice thing gonna work?’
Duh, bounty hunters. My posse with follow the NAP.
My posse with follow the NAP.
lol, this sounds badass, except for you have a PS3 damn it!
People on here with a 360 should do the same… For my sake. lol

I’m sorry that 360 sounds like a hairdryer and has crappy hardware. If it helps I use to be a 360 fan…but now, no longer.
I didn’t know you could be multiplayer bounty hunters, I thought it was just like versus. That sounds pretty cool though.
This makes me rage.. You play your slow ass tactical fps and claim to have skill?? You can keep playing your tactical FPS’s for years and not come close to the amount of speed and aim necessary for fast paced FPS games, while the quake players could easily adapt to slow games. How about try a real FPS, like CPMA or Quakeworld? THIS is skill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxpIyAFv6Lo
Everyone’s subjective valuations here are mostly wrong. These are the truths of life:
PS3 = a particularly rational brand
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 pwns Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I will get Red Dead Redemption when is it released
I see your ugly, shooting into empty hallways game and I raise you this:
I second this sir, I own all three systems, and I love the PS3. However, Sony should take notes when it comes to providing an online gaming service though.
