Video Games

You guys must not be very good at FPSes to think these are particularly fast and/or coordinated players. They’re slightly faster than me but not by much. The old CS1.6 players are way crazier.

Counterstrike is a completely different game. Did you notice how the Intervention he’s using has a huge recoil? Probably not, because he never stays scoped in. He has to pre-aim very fast and then make a micro-adjustment. If he misses and he’s against a competent opponent, he’ll be dead (because it’s bolt-action). If he also doesn’t get the first shot his chances of dying are also hugely increased because any hits will cause his aim to sway drastically.

You probably also didn’t notice the sway the gun has when zoomed in, because he shoots so fast that you don’t notice it.

I could go on for a while (jump-impact, using cover, navigating to cover your back, visibility of opponents is much worse because of camouflage, etc, etc).. the point is that Counterstrike plays much more like Doom-esque game whereas Call of Duty has more realistic elements introduced which makes it a lot harder than simply aiming and shooting.

I was a competent CS player but I had to learn the game from the ground up when I started Call of Duty 4 / Modern Warfare 2.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is much more realistic than MW2. The maps are much more bigger, which makes being a sniper meaningful. Plus, you can ride vehicles and destroy buildings and trees. And no BS akimbo shotgun kills.

play Alpha Centauri and dominate the militarists, the environmentalists, the academics, the religious, the communists, and the UN as an an-cap (Morgan Industries).

when you go free market/wealth, you can out research the nerds, corner the global energy market, buy out and flip invading enemy armies, etc.

Xenogears.

That is all.

PS3 = a particularly rational brand

Somebody just watched “Mozart was a red”.

Also, Halo Reach. Two words, Jet Packs. Anybody else play Tribes as a Teen?

Just a month longer until Xenoblade. It is very nice to have the Xeno name back in business.

Nevermind, I guess it is a month until Japanese release. Still no word on a US release

They had Tribes in the Sims 2?

BC is so much better then MW2.

Perhaps you should have gotten off your mom’s computer, bought a gaming rig with a voodoo graphics card, and played a real game.

Oh wait, I maybe mixing up era’s. When did the Sims 2 come out?

Anyone play MW2 on xbox ?

Gamertag = ash lawson

You can cry all the tactics you want but the fact remains, its a slow ass game, just as CS is. The movement speed is a joke, there is no resource management and timing or complex movement techniques(rocket accelerating, rocket jumping, bunnyhopping, zigzagging) unlike the quake series, just camping and rail shots(the quake equivalent).

no way! I rape snipers who try that youtube-highlight style play with speed and a M9 with the blade.

PC gaming please. Steam wins. :slight_smile:

I am cross my fingers that Xenoblade turns out to be another reboot a’la Xenosaga, only this time, with Nintendo’s backing.

If it is, then they are taking a more cautious (ans smarter) approach by starting out with something that appears to be entirely original on itself, & slowly building up a story.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was nothing more than a slightly more clever marketing move, however.

FarmVille.

my all-time favorite RPg.

Either way,I play Team Fortress 2 and Left4Dead 2, that’s about it.

You sir are a connoisseur. I think when I played Super Maro RPG as a kid it got me interested in thinking strategically, which lead to studying logic, and eventually to my current study of game theory.

BTW, natural law states that Deus Ex is the greatest game ever made (this is no mere personal preference, mind you).
