True, but every little bit helps on this issue. This is one of those issues where rationality and logic haven’t been abandoned, they’ve been targetted and visciously attacked and brutalized savaged by those who want these policies to continue. That this report will be ignored, especially in the US, I have no doubt. Even when pet organizations of the US government tell it that prohibition might possibly not be the best idea in the world, the government politely ignores them. Still, every little bit helps somewhat.
It helps to notice here that the UN was the main vehicle that imposed this prohibition on certain drugs to begin with, after decades of misery imposed all over the world they suddenly embrace parts of the critique of prohibition. And if they do the success will be chalked up to the wonderful UN and the need for global governance.
Maybe the first gentle salvo in the rest of the world deciding not to take US crap anymore? One can only hope.
