Would anyone here agree with the idea the war on drugs is a Socialist enterprise or would it be more accurate to describe it as an Interventionist enterprise? Why or why not?

It’s probably more of a libertarian -vs- loss of freedom arguement. Therefore interventionist.

The war on drugs has managed to pack our prisons with non-violent offenders who are disproportionately non-white. It’s not about tampering with people’s lives in a general, interventionist way. It’s a race war. Just look at the history of it, and where the laws started. Google “Harry Anslinger” and you’ll get a good idea.

Socialism is more concerned with how goods are produced. Unless you take the view that the health of the citizens is somehow a good that must be achieved (a public good as it were), the war on drugs is not socialist. Moreover, since its enforcement is rooted in moral hysteria rather than the aforementioned motive, it is interventionist (unless a given moral fabric of society is taken as a “public good” the state must furnish.) So it depends on how strict you are in your definitions.
That’s because blacks are inherently criminal. It’s a genetic trait.
Who cares if a few stoners have to buy drugs of a sketchy black guy instead of from a cornerstore, if they don’t like it they can go to Amsterdam and be with the rest of the hippies.
Actually in a free society there would be no drug users. PDAs would kill off drug users because that’s what the market would demand.
