Was Stuxnet Virus Israeli and US Gov. Created?

Does this article prove that?

And if so, why would they admit it?

“…so sophisticated it must be State-sponsored”?

does the state not have the power to hire really good hackers?

I guess if the government has all of the tax dollars with which to pay them, but there’s no reason the private sector couldn’t easily do the same thing.

The answer is yes, not unsurprinsgly. German industry giant Siemens is having the virus taken apart: it was their software and hardware which was hit and they want to know what went wrong since they stand to lose lot of money if security isn’t improved, quickly. The virus is simply far too sophisticated to have been developed by an average “hacker collective” since it shows an extremely deep knowledge of their own software which nobody outside Siemens and a very few of their contractors possess. Fingers are now being pointed to a US government lab in Idaho which run security tests on Siemens’s behalf. One of the software analysts hired by Siemens also said the virus was tailor made to hit a very specific hardware-software combination which, we may surmise, exists only in that specific Iranian nuclear research facility. This is very weird because hackers, whatever their motivation, want to hit as many targets as possible. Other computers in in India and Indonesia have been infected but the virus has stayed “dormant” even when detected, not even slowing down normal operations.

While Israeli officials haven’t admitted anything officially (a well established national politics) their badly-disguised satisfaction tells the whole story. Moreover where would hackers precise data on the hardware-software combination used by the Iranians? How about the remote surveillance system? These are data you can only obtain through a well placed informant. The Iranians know very well their nuclear program has been infiltrated by Israeli and, probably, Russian spies. This virus must have rung a million bells because they didn’t expect the situation to be this bad.

It also tells quite a lot about how badly conceived and poorly managed the Iranian nuclear program is.
