I frequent these forms minimally, so there may be a previous thread that offers good discussion on this topic. If so, and anyone has a link, post it. Certainly threat is a case-by-case basis, but what is a good definition of a threat under libertarian law?
as long as you feel threatened.
By which I assume you mean that anyone can bring any legal claim to an arbitration agency under the label of threat?
Let me rephrase, if you were to speak for an arbitration agency what is needed for the condition of threat to demand someone compensation?
i dont know that any compensation is necesary.
if you feel threatend by someones actions…take measures.
If you receive adequate protection for your property, then you should be able to ignore any threat. A threat is an expression of power.
You cannot insure against most actual threats.
What if we narrow the topic of threat a little more and speak of language. Can language legitimately be threatening? By this I’m not asking if one can feel threatened by language (after all, one can be threatened by anything), but can language, in and of itself be a threat. For example, “I am going to kill you now”, etc. We could obviously venture further and ask which language and whether that language is spoken or written, but you get where I’m going with this
–Lets forget the fact that someone may contract with another individual to not use specific language which would invite compensation if such a contract was broken.
