Just finished watching it in full for an essay I’m doing.
I must say, of the many documentaries on such issues that are out there, this one actually gives attention to the role government policy, intervention and regulation play in the industry, and how these things totally screw ‘natural’ economics. Most documentaries only focus on vilifying the big businesses, but they never bother to ask why these big businesses do, or are able to do, what they’re vilified for doing. This one does, and it’s quite refreshing.
I like the documentary, Fat Head by Tom Naughton (he’s also libertarian), better than Food, Inc. It shows how the people in charge and activists campaigning for regulation really don’t know any better. But I really enjoyed the philosophy behind the film about eating what is best for your body and not what some consumer advocacy group or new diet fad promotes.
