Whats wrong with FAFSA, Federal Income Tax, and Pell Grants?

I am not a Liberal Arts Major.

I’m not sure if I should laugh or cry.

DfB are you saying that you are entitled to college money? If yes, are you willing to go out with a club or a gun, and collect the money yourself?

So get yerself some loans

Why stop there? Not why just say that he is entitled to the love of any woman?

I’m 22, work at Kmart and go to community college. I get plenty of girls.

Its expensive because they pay people to go to it. When you offer a product for ‘free’, consumption spikes to a maximum saturation point, and nearly infinitely if you make it have a negative cost (which is the case).

It is expensive because it has not adapted to the radical changes in technology, information exchange, and understanding of learning processes, for hundreds of years. Next time you are in your 450+ student lecture hall listening to the same lecture which has been given 20 times before, ask yourself this… “Is this really that much different than something I could record and distribute freely on the internet?”. It would be as if people created buildings out of solid gold bricks, then argued we need to steal money to pay for houses due to their absurd cost. Why not just stop making them out of gold?

School is not about education. Don’t conflate the two and you will be much better off. School is about indoctrination and getting a piece of paper (in more than one way (ie: diploma for you, money for politically connected)

If you want to truly learn something. Read Human Action. Use Wikipedia, Google, Youtube, or any of the hundreds of online resources dedicated for this exact purpose… for free.

If you want to memorize and regurgitate common knowledge, go to university.

If I were not getting the massive amount of stolen money that I receive from other people, I would not be wasting my time getting my crappy paper. Be honest with yourself, as I am. You are a receiver of stolen goods.

I don’t believe you, you obviously need government subsidies in order to get the babes.

[:D] You gotta have hope.

Obamie is gonna make everything better. Don’t worry.

This would just about sum up the reason why I decided to go to University. Nearly every person I talk to loves the state one way or the other. They wont let me leave their bull shit system. They want to milk me. I’ll figure out a way to help those innocent few who I have stolen from. F$&k the rest.

It takes 8-15 years because of the inefficiency with which our education system is built upon. Do you think it is necessary for a surgeon to take Shakespearean theater, philosophy, or religious studies? What about general history/arts? Do you think the system we have now is the most efficient way of training anyone to do their task?

You were wasting your time.

Wow.

You have some beautiful grammar, word usage, sentence structure, and descriptive ability. I guess that free university is really workin’!

Sorry. [6]

Actually, in Europe the majority of people do not have college educations and they get on with their lives just fine. They establish trades at which they excel at.

But yet, for some reason, Europe’s markets produce a lot less then the U.S, Japan, and China.

Additionally, just because the majority of people in Europe do fine with their lives doesn’t mean the people who want to go to school shouldn’t. I want to make my intelligence worth it, not be bagging groceries for my life like a lot of the UNINTELLIGENT losers I went to High School with. YOu can’t make a job in Engineering trades without an EDUCATION at a trade SCHOOL. I for one am not interested in a trade, I am more of an abstract/artistic thinker, and am very weak in the logical/hands on side. I am going to College to possibly be a Doctor, or maybe I’ll get a degree in Psychology. I’m not sure yet.

Innovation for the development of new technology is spiked in Japan, and their populace is very serious about education. Japanese high school students get the equivalent to a U.S college student.

So?

Maybe a business major, which is not a real undergraduate major.

Japan has way fewer people that don’t take school seriously like a lot of the idiots you have here in the U.S. Sadly, Indian students are a lot more intelligent and serious then most U.S students and they cna’t go to school because they are unable to afford it. There also isn’t as much Universities there, and for the ones that they are, they aren’t very good. As a result, most Indian students come here for schooling.

You are really good at reading minds, tell me what am I thinking.

no

maybe

immigration laws really. They would be able to get scholarships if they could come in the first place.

Maybe you should be a liberal arts major.

But you just said they cna’t go to school because they are unable to afford it. How can most indian students come to the united states?

Maybe if your experience with college weren’t shaped by the community college you go to you’d think differently.

Well, that’s funny. I can see what you mean, to some extent. However, I do not agree (a subjective issue, I know!). I don’t really consider myself an “intellectual” really, I’ve only been at this for a very short time. However, I work as a bartender, cook and bouncer at a bar where most of us are like a close knit family (7 out of 14 of us, the other 7 are kinda, eh, but not as bad as those teenagers you so adore). I spend most of this knowledge talking with other people who are also learning (i happen to live in a college town, tho I don’t attend college, myself) (Virginia Tech).

As for the you saying “there wouldn’t be any way to meet girls…” well, dude.. I am sorry, but you don’t need college for that. I met my primary partner in 2002, and we’ve been together ever since. You can go to a bar, a club, to the local theater, to community events and meet girls just fine. Most of my married friends didn’t even meet in college.

I am a high school/home school drop out (age of 15), and I think my work ethic is superb, to be honest. And what I mean by this is, I don’t wuss out when I am scheduled to work. I have no issue with accepting new shifts from coworkers who can’t/don’t work. I also do the job I was hired to do, I don’t always do a 100%, but most of the time I do. I do extra work around the bar, too, to help my coworkers/boss. I’ve held down a job ever since I was 15. I had two periods from 15 to now, where I didn’t have a job: once while I was 22 I didn’t have a job for 8 months, and once while I was 25, I was out of a job for 3 months.

I wanted to suggest this as an answer, because it’s so damned true. I was working in a hole in the wall pizza joint when I met my primary partner.
