Why race to the bottom? No one is going to take your moral stance seriously when you’re behaving like a fanatic. It doesn’t make you any less right, but it certainly removes any credibility. It just drives people to tune you out.
This still does not prove your point, that people hate free people. We are not free, as such, they cannot possibly hate free people. So my point stands, that there is no reason to believe a free people would be attacked. They would have weapons, even weapons of mass destruction, and anyone who would attack them would be very foolish, because not only would they be armed, but they would also be trading with them.
I have never tried to defend the previous or current actions of my country but neverless even when we do stop doing those things the hate will be there jst as it was before we started meddling. There will be significanly fewer people who hate me because I am american but there will always be some because the believe it is thier godly mission.
I also realize the term islamic fundamentalist has been stretched to contain anyone who resists
yes we are not free but America in general see’s itself as free and as the symbol of freedom and the justifications are debatable but history books even in places outside theUS refere to America as the great experiment in freedom.
I assume we can both agree the economic warfare leads to general warfare and usually people protect thier money. However I think we can also agree that wars do not make sense and in seems one will fight the other without reason. so saying it would not be logical for someone to attack the group that they are making profits with is not a gaurentee they will not attack anyway
Josh, that is irrelevant. You said there are people that think freedom is morally wrong and would want to kill people that had it. Just admit that your statement is baseless and move on.
Hundreds of thousands died from U.S. government sanctions on Iraq. That is just one recent example. The U.S. government also supplied weapons to Iraq to kill Iranians.
Ehh I think that is a bit of a stretch. A gun supplier is not responsible for how weapons are used, the people who weld them are. However, I am in absolute agreement with you on US sanctions.
yes and they were also killed by thier own governments. Muslims have been killing eachother since the beginning of islam and will not cease in our lfetimes.muslims have killed way more muslims than westerners have killed muslims and were doing so before we started supplying all sides with wepons. While I think we should/should have left them to themselves im not going to accept that little west is the devil guilt trip. You’ve been fooled by propaganda just the opposite propaganda I’ve supposedly been fooled by.“free your mind”
my point is irrelevent? your point is based on nobody would want to attack a free people because it wouldnt make sense for them too and even then since there has never been a truly free people it only makes sense on paper because it has never been proven in real life. Im sorry to inform you but the real world will never make sense and follow reason
Yes, because you are not even addressing your claim.
I guess you have not noticed how much better the relations are between the Chinese government and the U.S. government now that the two nations can trade more with each other. That’s OK, I know people like you like to disregard reality.
The true murderers are politicians. They don’t even have the guts to go out and risk their lives in the wars they make, unlike kings or senators of old. They’ll just run to the bunkers at the first sign of trouble and abandon the population they’ve been robbing for centuries.
As for military personnel, they’re just pawns, like the rest of us. The government hijacked ideas of patriotism and monopolized all defense so even militia is frowned upon. So if you think that you want to serve your country and get military skills and actual experience, they don’t have much choice other go to the recruiters. And since they all went through the government education they don’t think through the implications.
However, defense and reconstruction contractors can make profits off the war money right now.
On a more cynical note. the military with most veterans has advantage over inexperienced armies in the war (think Germans in WWII). So if the new world order is coming, US and its allies can provide the enforcement arm to suppress the uprisings (think about it, Iraq is mostly urban warfare and not against regular troops).
That is so much crap. Muslims didn’t fight the civil war. Muslims didn’t firebomb Tokyo or nuke Nagasaki or Hiroshima. They didn’t invade the US the way the US has invaded Iraq, Vietnam, Korea and Afghanistan.
And even if Muslims killed more Muslims than westerners have, does that make it ok for westerners to kill Muslims? That is some sick stuff.
The west is the devil because at every turn, the west has tried to profit off the misery of those people. Christian morals sound great on the campaign trail, but when you’re supporting Saddam Hussein or the Shah of Iran, or the Taliban or the Saudi Princes it is really hard to stake out a moral high ground.
Actually, muslims killed, subjugated and enslaved a lot of non-muslims over the course of history: Christians, Jews, Budhists, Africans, etc. (They’re still doing it, by the way). At some point, they conquered a lot of the West and even as late as 17th century managed to scare the bejesus out of the Western Europe (if you go to Vatican, there’s the whole chamber dedicated to the Siege of Vienna. It was like WWII to those people, I’m not kidding). The West managed to turn the tide by commerce, exploration and industrialization which ensured superior weapons.
I don’t endorse Western imperialism in any shape or form, just pointing out that were the situation reversed, the West would have gone the way of Byzantium or early middle-eastern kingdoms. Don’t understimate the potential of any ideology to be used to rally the masses by governments or other warlike entities. Of course, looking at the European population statistics it might be so that Muslims can accomplish relatively peacefully what their ancestors waged wars for.
And more gross violence. It’s one thing to behead a dozen people. It’s another thing to nuke hundreds of thousands.
I agree.
But don’t assume all muslims subscribe to a single ideology as it pertains to violence and imperialism. Abdullah the barber wasn’t the one conquering Europe, it was the islamic state. In almost every case, it is the state. My problem with Josh isn’t that he is an American or a Christian. It’s that he wants to be a soldier for the state, and think he can do that without compromising libertarian ethics. Unlike Abdullah the barber, he has a choice whether to fight or the imperial legion or not.
I lived with muslims, so I have a soft spot for them, but I was raised Christian and I have a soft spot for them too. Contrary to popular dogma, and misinterpretation, most religions preach peace and brotherhood. It’s when they become a tool of statists that the streets run red.
um yess they do fight civil wars all the time or in most cases violently putting down opposition. let me make myself clear I do not think this justifies going around interfering or supporting unpopular regimes or any such actions. However I will refute your propaganda and lies, it may not be the most popular and accepted propaganda but it is still no more than lies and propaganda.
