Which of these three laws is the most anti-black?

For my first ever question on this forum, I thought I’d start with something everyone probably has a lot of knowledge on, but that I myself cannot come to a conclusion towards.

I have excluded the fugitive slave laws that propped up that peculiar institution to put more focus on laws that exist today, so I would like to know which of these three laws in effect today currently has the most negative impact on blacks (or minorities in general) today:

  1. Minimum Wage - Destroying entry-level employment opportunities for minority youth.
  2. Drug laws - Tearing apart families and creating illegitimacy over things that grow in a desert…
  3. Davis-Bacon Act - So it was created to exclude cheap black labor; does that legacy still live on?

So which has the most negative impact today?

I’m going to reject the anti-black/minority part of the question and simply say drug laws are easily the worst of the laws listed. I can go on and on about it, but drug laws are incredibly destructive in many different ways, much more then just economic. A law which creates crime, limits recreational, medical and economic freedom, creates fear and creates mass expenses is a bad law.

I think the trouble you may have concerning your attempt to decide which option has the most negative impact is that you are trying to objectively determine which option has the most negative impact.

Ya, honestly that is only a subjective valuation individual black people could measure. One unskilled worker may say min wage. Another whose brother was shot for crack may say the drug war.

I guess at the end of the day a law that negatively affects everyone the greatest can be considered a law that negatively affects blacks to a heavy extent as well.

I would say Minimum Wage laws. When the first Minimum Wage law was enacted over 600,000 Blacks were out of a job. Up until that point and with help of the Davis-Bacon Act, Blacks actually had a higher job participation rate than whites.

I would also reemphasize the Minimum Wage laws, though. Walter E. Williams has extensive studies, I’m sure you can find his videos on YouTube regarding the impact that it has had on Black youth.
