Would any financial historians care to suggest, what is the longest period in history that any currency has existed without changes to its rules of operation, anywhere in the world.
De Soto’s bok , Money, Bank Credit, and Economic Cycles, indicates that the Bank of Amsterdam operated for 150 years, beginning in 1609, without changes in its rules of operation.This is the longest that I’m aware of.

I just looked in wikipedia and noticed it talks about the “secretive nature of its administration”, so do we really know that it was working in the same way for 150 years?
