Hello everybody, just looking for some input here. I am currently taking an International Law & Human Rights course and we have to write a 15-20 page paper on a topic. The professor gave us a choice of ten topics and I selected the last one which reads:
“Does international law tolerate or challenge neoliberal globalization/global capitalism? Should it? You could potentially examine reactions to Cuba, Venezuela, and Bolivia, or look at corporations and violations of human rights, or the policies of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and/or World Trade Organization (which are all arguably part of the international institutional framework that participates in global governance).”
I am going to attempt to prove that international law is intolerant towards globalization and capitalism and that this should not be the case; as we should allow free markets, free trade, free enterprise, etc. I want to focus on the third element of the topic which revolves around the World Bank, WTO, and IMF.
I’m basically just looking for some information, and it has to be a “reputable” source as this lady seems pretty adamant about sources being some “academic” article or something in print, on a database, etc.
My questions are:

How have these organizations infringed upon capitalism?

Are there any law cases regarding such infringement?

Do you ahve any good recommendations of material to assist me in proving my thesis?
