A couple of interesting facts:
It took the U.S. government 440 days to start an investigation into 9/11!
The FBI does not list the attacks on the twin towers as reasons for Bin Laden being on their most wanted list!

The Congressional Report came out in Dec, 2002. Perhaps that’s it? Investigations started in February 2002. Here’s the report.
OK, I think what they are talking about are the commissions. The 9/11 commission was not established until 440 days after 9/11. The Roberts Commission was established shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberts_Commission), apparently 11 days after the attacks.
So I think they are using the wording “investigation” a little ambiguously. Regardless, it is still interesting how much longer it took to establish a commission for 9/11.
The 9/11 Commissions were resisted by Bush and Cheney. They were only conducted after intense pressure by the victims families, and specifically the Jersey Girls.
Sometime in 07 or 08, the bi-partisan heads of the Commission had an article or interview in the NYT (iirc), where they admitted that the commissions were compromised.
Go figure!
Phillip Zelikow, the man who, according to an insider in the commission had ‘total control’ of 7 out of the 8 research groups, wrote a book with Condi Rice, and worked on the Bush administration for a few months.
The commissions stated goal was to show how Al Qaeda attacked the US on 9/11. (I cant remember the exact quote)
At one point, in dealing with the question of how Al Qaeda received $100 000 from the CIA subsidized Pakistani ISI, the 9/11 comission stated that…
“To date, the U.S. government has not been able to determine the origin of the money used for the 9/11 attacks. Ultimately the question is of little practical significance.”
And when they did testify, they refused to testify alone, and instead, testified together, with the stipulation that it was not to be videotaped…

That’s unrelated to FBI most wanted. He appeared on that list first in 1999, primarily in connection with the embassy bombings.

It was simply constructed in the interview format to gain attention.
Apparently, they didn’t factor the unwillingness to view reality without the lenses of the state apparatus…
For goodness sake, take 10 minutes to inform yourself on the topic before reading it. I cant believe I’m even discussing an issue with someone who wont take 10 minutes to read a brief summary of the opposing view on a subject which she subjects to continual ridicule.

Yes. But what I remember was that the government touted the need to get bin Laden. That is why I asked why all the hoopla about bin Laden?

FBI wanting Bin Laden and going to war in Afghanistan are not exactly the same things.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:
When asked why 9/11 didn’t appear on the FBI’s list of Bin Laden’s crimes, Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI responded,
“The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Osama bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11.”
And who has ever claimed that he was directly involved?
