Seems like there is going to be a surge of college students wanting to go into government, or at least NGOs that service governmental/elitists goals, which means that country is gonna continue to go into the gutter. I guess this really will be China’s century.
I saw it on the tele at the gym and he was talking about public service. I was surprised they were making such a big deal out of a speech. Its for… what exactly?
Obama and the other politicians are totally cashing in on this.
I was trying to watch regularly scheduled programming when it came on. I “watched” a few minutes of it. Three things struck me: 1) there was thunderous clapping and cheering… at a memorial service. 2) Obama called for humility. Wh-what? 3) They had a theme. “Together We Thrive.” Class all around.
Maybe I’m a little old-fashioned, but if I were President or any kind of important political figure, I wouldn’t intrude on those grieving by bringing the political circus to town. Don’t shift the attention to yourself and your own remarks. Particularly if the best you can muster are bored platitudes like, “I believe that for all our imperfections, we are full of decency and goodness.”
