Austrian/Hayekian economists in UK?

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask if you know of any Austrian/Hayekian economics professors/scholars teaching at any university in Great Britain? I know about the Hayek Society at LSE and about the Libertarian club at Oxford? Are there any actual faculty members from those universities that are Austrians? Maybe at other universities?
Any information given would be highly apreciated. I’m planning to do my master’s degree in Economics in the UK, as I can’t financially afford to do it in United States (I’m from the EU), say at GMU or NYU. Everything I’ve learnt about economics is thanks to Mises.org, to be completely honest (not just simply most of the things I know, all the things!). It may come as no surprise to anyone here that I deem my formal undergraduate studies in the U.S. as a veritable, consummate and very dear waste of time and, more importantly, money! To be frank I’m not hoping there are many Austrains (if any) in Britain, but I decided that I might as well ask. Once again, any information on the matter would be much appreciated.Thanks in advance!

I’m not aware of too many in the UK, however, you could look to Spain. Dr. De Soto teaches in Madrid, at Rey Juan Carlos. He teaches a one-year masters in Austrian Economics. After the masters, you can proceed with a PhD with him, or you could head to France with Guido Hulsmann.

Another option, in a generally free-market environment, would be at the University of Economics in Prague, as there are many free-market types, generally New Classical or New Monetarists, but there do exist some Austrians. There are some free-market or free-market sympathetic types at the neighboring institution of Charles University, but in smaller numbers.

There are english tutorials from what Dr. De Soto had sent me, but the bulk is in spanish. You should send him an email.
