So, is basic income idea still going strong in Europe? Have all charities disappeared by now? Can I join?

Many prominent European social scientists have now come out in favour of basic income - among them two Nobel laureates in economics.
Why don’t they just spread their doe around if they want to help the poor? Why is it always the greedy capitalist pigs who contribute millions to charities?
Note that inmates don’t get paid even if the work. Gulag, anyone? As soon as the government runs out of money or resources, it is going to put enough people in prison to do work that welfare recipients are too lazy to do and would have been otherwise carried out by the private sector. These socialist fools don’t see where this is going to.
It’s funny that these schemes, supposedly to guarantee more freedom, don’t allow for opting out. Where is my freedom then?
