Thanks for this post. I’ve been looking for an article like this for awhile to use to point out specific instances of increased regulation under the Bush regime. With that said, political rhetoric is never static and is slowly manipulated over time to better fit the facts as they are presented. I can imagine that Obama’s response to this would be something to the effect of, even though Bush increased regulaton in some areas, he didn’t increase them enough or in the right ways. Then he’ll go on to announce that if he is elected a 2nd term he will implement the following regulations as checks and balances for the out of control capitalist system.
With that said, we all know that it doesn’t matter. It’s the same political game that has been played since the first governments were established, and will continue to be played until the last falls as a result of its own failed principles.
It’s really, really sad that we live in a world where politicians just bold-face lie like this. On both sides :\
