I hope I am putting this in the correct category.
Everybody is talking about how important it is to get counted during the census so that the state can request proper funds from the federal government, yada yada yada.
I don’t see, how I could possibly allow myself to be counted. What is everybody else’s opinion on whether to get counted or not?
Those ads are also on Spanish-language radio stations and television networks.
This reminds me of Japan during the Tokugawa shogunate in which it was illegal to move from one place to another without registering with the Buddhist temple. Or maybe it was the Shinto temple. Well either way, it certainly controlled and monitored movement of the citizenry. 400 years later, they are still committing the same principle.

Interesting. So one could be fined and, I suppose, imprisoned for refusing to partake in the charade. What would happen, however, if you lied on every question?
Would some Federal sycophant come round to check that you’re really a partially-disabled Greek-Orthodox Pacific Indian transexual who has 6 bathrooms in your house, 5 kids, 2 parakeets and a pet llama?
Ha, what if even 1/4th of the people that did the census did just that and lied on everything? A simple number of the people in the household should suffice, but they have to know irrelevent personal information. If one can they should just avoid the census (if they can get away with it).

Funny, a census if on here at this very moment. I see that most people will try to be a sincere and collaborating as possible due to the belief that “this is for our own good”.
In this year’s census, are we comrades finally going to be asked what consumer products we comrades want, so that our omniscient, omnipotent, and benevolent government can have it produced for us comrades for the next ten years, when the next census will be conducted?
Of course not. We have class consciousness. Asking implies that we are different in need.
I am contemplating choosing the highest number of people in the household that is allowed on the form. If it lets you write it in, it will be 42.

How funny would that be if someone said their income is 1.2 trillion dollars. That is basically what the government get in income tax and well…the government works for us.

Re-education is for the people who are suspected of questioning the supereminence of government inside their minds; they are to be made an example of as merely being “mentally ill”.

My wife, who works from home, was accosted last year by someone claiming to be from the census. Said person was holding a GPS unit. We live at the end of a long dead-end drive, so it is very odd to see anyone other than delivery personnel. Gotta get that GPS targeting info recorded somehow, I guess.

I researched this topic.It seems the idea of a census began with the romans and was collected for tax purposes(to see how much tax to levy and where/how to spend it).When britain introduced it they did it for the same reason.Every libertarian who’s wrote on this sees it as a massive violation of privacy and as big brother statism.
