Most of the calls for ‘cutting the budget’ are not the least bit serious. Even the Tea Party has been reluctant to touch the three biggest areas of spending by the Federal government(Defense, social security, and meidcare/medicade).
Now it appears that Evengelicals have forgien aid at the top of their priorties for budget cuts. Granted there are lots of good arguments for eleminating forgien aid(not the least of which is is tends to achieve the exact oppiset of its expressed purpose), but the reality is that its only a tiny percentage of the federal budget, and if ones really truely serious about getting it under control you need to address the fact that we are runnin and empire and the worlds largest ponzi scheme…
