Does anyone know if sucha program exists? I did find a few schools with dual PhDs in math and other subjects, but not economics. It would be especially helpful if someone knew of a school that offers a dual PhD in math and some type of free market economics. It doesn’t have to be Austrian, but has to be close enough that I don’t run up and punch any professors in the face.
Dunno. You don’t really need super high level math for economics. Most people do fine with the equivalent of a minor in mathematics. Just calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, game theory, etc.
I think the math skills needed to enter a PhD program in math might cover the neccessary mathematical ability to study economics.
University of Chicago, I’d imagine.
Yeah, Economics is probably an applied branch of Maths there.
