If you and I both start a grocery store and within 3 years, I have expanded, and you have gone out of business, then, all other things equal, I am naturally superior to you in this regard. Now just extrapolate to get a more general view of the concept.
I would think its obvious that I call it ‘natural’ because there is no artificial edifice (such as the state) involved in promoting me over you, or vice versa.

As far as I can tell, nobody says that successful business owners are members of any natural elite. Just like nobody says that good engineers are members of the elite of engineers or that good musicians are members of the natural elite of musicians, etc.
Maybe you haven’t noticed it, but people are not born engineers, musicians, or grocery store owners.
Its called a hypothetical situation. Unlikely to happen in real life, but still useful in order to illustrate a concept.

That some people are just naturally better at things than others; that it is good and healthy to have natural elites. That stigmatizing or inhibiting the work of natural elites is counter-productive.
