Can anyone name all the non-aggressive ways possible acquire property?
I’ve never really seen property as an objective, normative means to declare that one owns something. I kind of view it as human beings evolving in communities and deciding upon a way to use scarce resources. They have to be decided upon one way or another, so I think something along the lines of neo-Lockean homesteading is about the most efficient way to do it.
Basically, if you meet the requirements of using something purposefully and usefully or buying a piece of a land/item in a manner in which all other property is traded for, it becomes yours. So if you build a house on unused land and till the ground, whatever you are using is basically yours and if an entrepreneur wants to come along and buy it, it can become his. I guess that opens up a can of worms depending on whether or not the capitalist just lets the land sit there and does nothing with it, but I think the means of property transfer would have been met and the way to acquire that property from the “wasteful” capitalist would be to buy it from him.
Basically I think the homesteading idea as it applies to land is mainly for “untouched”/up-for-grabs property. For items, it seems that if people don’t discard something, that probably means they plan on using it or want to maintain ownership of it.
The point of this question is if one acquires property through homesteading, i.e., mixing ones labor with material stuff how can one own onself? Since one cannot mix ones labor with oneself since one would exist before one existed. Now property acquisition might include selfownership, but it seems ad hoc. If one believes in the homesteading principle does that not entail that your parents own you since they mixed their sperm and egg to create you?
That’s the fundamental axiom though, that you own yourself and therefore what you do with yourself. So when you exert force upon already existing material, you are “mixing your labor” with the material, so you claim ownership on that. It’s not the ability to homestead that comes first, it’s the axiom that you own yourself that comes first.

I’ve begun to see (thanks to BrainPolice) that we have the tendency to equate physiological self-ownership with ‘I ought to be a self-owner’.
Sometimes we miss the move from is to ought, but it most certainly is there. I’ve appreciated his criticisms of self-ownership, and I’ve been working on a response to them.
Like I said before, ownership is a relationship between a person and an object. There isn’t any need to talk about self-ownership, since it would be talking about a relationship between something and itself (which would be redundant or else meaningless).
Do parents own there children? If so when to children begin to posses self-ownership? Or do fetoses, babies and children posses self ownship innately?
there is no one “correct” (absolute) answer, libertarians are divided in this issue (like many others, and it’s not a bad thing). Some claim, that children are essentially a property of their parents, some (including me) do not agree with such absurdities and assert that children own themselves since the day they are born. Same with fetoses. Some libertarians claim they are humans and have rights, some (again, including me) deny this and stick to scientific pragmatic thinking, that fetus become human when it is born (hence the word “it”).
There were countless threads on both issues, search around. I doubt that anyone will give you sufficient and the only true answer, you have to decide for yourself.
I believe, that parents are only natural caretakers of children, but not an owners (in a true sense), even though they are responsible for them until certain age when children become aware of their self-ownership and/or (maybe, I don’t know) are able to leave parents’ house and live by themselves.
If one thought parents owned their children wouldn’t that be a form of slavery? Also if one believes that children are innitally owned by thier parents when are they considered to acquire self-ownership?
it’s better to check related topic and ask those people who believe, that parents own their children. You can start with using a keyword “children rights”
All the ways are “stake”.
