I am sick of Ron Paul's push to audit the Fed!!

You cannot have more regulatory control over what is already regulatory control. Everybody is confusing disinterest with lack of control. And this confusion is the result of a terrible and misguided educational campaign run by c4L. They played right into the hands of the socialists who insist that the Fed is a Capitalistic Institution. Less people knew of the Fed, but at least then knew it was a government agency. Now, most people are buying into the “Fed is a government of its own” and are ready to crawl back to politicians to save them from the evil “banksters”. After the Fed blows everybody up, some Obama type creep will say “never again an independent Fed, we are a Democracy and not a Dictatorship”.

Perfect, well said.

if only i can get more people to do what i want. i could call it a gov’t or something and have all my wishes come true.

Or you would just be a really good salesman.

Without the fed for cheap loans to the government, the federal government has only a few options for revenue, as well as a diminished ability to debase the currency. That’s the reason for the fight.

An agreement on means (audit) can be used to achieve differing ends/expectations. Lifting the carpet for all to see is the necessary means toward achieving the end of eliminating the dirt under it. What transpires after more eyes observe the dirt under the carpet is anybody’s guess but it most certainly will not hurt the case for eliminating it.

Z.

To simply attack “the government” as an institution itself is to vague. The fed is probably the best target at this point. Everyone with an IRA, that I know, seems to be interested in monetary policy. Believe me when I tell you, they aren’t looking to bahney fwank (barney frank)

Ron and Kucinich seem to be the only ones talking about it. And they are trying to fix it through incrementalism.

Because you don’t understand the strategy?

It’s a massive problem. Who finances the government spending besides tax payers? Who provides a nice outlet to use the hidden effects of inflation, instead of the overt effects of raising taxes? lol

Do you watch him on television? He constantly brings this up… constantly. He uses it to great effect on non-Fox channels, hell he uses it on there aswell. “Bring the troops home” “The government is bankrupt” etc.

What would his The Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act, H.R. 833 do? What would his book called “End the Fed” do to educate others?

Kucinich is a hardcore socialist who simply has enough brains to realize that the most precious jewel of the Welfare state is under attack.

He now repeatedly chants socialist propaganda such as “The Fed is as public as the Federal Express” and is setting the political ground work for future chants to nationalize the Fed.

I don’t know if you are informed enough yet to realize how incredibly stupid and nonsensical that last sentence was, but there is a serious danger that this is precisely what the mob will go for when price inflation hits double digits.

Dennis Kucinich is the biggest creep out there, anyone that hails him for this audacious act is overlooking his motives. Does anyone here think that he is actually a free-banking/ free-money advocate?

Give me a break, he’s the typical run of the mill European Socialist.

Most of these European Socialists don’t give a damn about central banking, they just have a problem when they bail out private firms etcetera…

My Aunt who happens to be a big-time Euro Socialist echoed that point above. She doesn’t seem to care (or know) about reserve requirements/ interest rates..

I think auditing the Fed will just result in more calls to regulate it more, not abolish it. So it is unlikely that it will diminish government spending at all. It is also unlikely that it will result in higher interest rates. And it will probably just become even more politicized.

Maybe I just don’t watch him enough anymore.

I am talking about his main bill with the 300+ co-sponsors.

What would a book titled “End government support of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac” and written by him to do educate others?

You didn’t answer the questions. I guess that’s because we both know the answers. Nothing you mentioned makes it worse off that it already is. It’s also stuff that is out of his control. You’re blaming him for something that isn’t his fault. Kind of irrational.

I know you were. I was merely highlighting the fact you were ignoring his other bills, that’s precise purpose is exactly what you were criticizing his Audit the Fed bill for not doing.

Not as much as the former.

Why me and why Ron P in your OP., - what about Spideynw? You didn’t forget yourself and look to others now for answers did you?

Sorry for missing the questions.

Well the major portion of government spending is financed through borrowing.

I don’t think the effects are necessarily hidden. I think what you are getting at though is that most people do not understand that increasing the money supply is a tax. Regardless, the problem is the fact that the government makes it extremely difficult to use alternative currencies. We don’t need to get rid of the Fed. We just need to be able to use alternative currencies.

Again, I think auditing the Fed will just result in politicizing it more. Big deal.

So why try auditing it then?

I am criticizing the fact that he seems so focused on the Auditing the Fed bill. He does talk about other things every once in a while. But this seems to be what I hear the most about from him and his organization, by far. Maybe it is just me.

Because you said, “if only i[sic] can get more people to do what i[sic] want.”

Because he is the subject of the topic.

What about me?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Would you mind being more specific?

Pure conjecture.

my point was, is this a critique of Ron P. or do you still hold onto a gov’t mindset and want other people to force what you want done, to be done?
