In a way, that’s a good thing, for no one will then have any excuses regarding whether or not the fed is a government entity. They will be unable to blame “capitalism” without everyone knowing that they’re lying. And maybe then we’ll see the calls to abolish it.
A critique of Ron Paul’s strategy.
ok
I was critical of Ron Paul last year, but I think it was more a reflection of my own frustration related to feeling powerless, than to any positive expectation he should be fulfilling for me (or for you).
If you’re really for liberty, which entails tolerance in social and economic relations, then he is doing what he is doing, and attracting people who are also interested. If that yields no result, or you feel it is counterproductive, then they are still entitled to do it.
Like you, I put sweat equity into Ron Paul’s presidential campaign. But the important thing to remember is that we didn’t own the campaign, the ideas and don’t have a share in the man now. The lesson for me is, don’t invest in someone thinking you can control them. Give what you can, if you like.
It’s not healthy to build up movements around individuals anyways. Socialism isn’t a cult of personality based around Marx, but an ideological movement based around his ideas. Richard Ebeling talks about this in a recent talk to the Nassau Institute, which I posted the final two videos from. That was just in the last week or so. You can search for Richard Ebeling and I am sure you will find them. Watch them please. And comment. No one else did. They had a profound effect on my perspective, and I don’t even know that another soul here checked them out.
Makes sense to me.
I may check them out. Thank you.
