actually meant their advice to be taken and if others actually took them…

the result would be absurdity. Because taking any one of their advices would mean going against another of their advices.

I was going to substantiate this with real life examples, but I’ll leave instead this old cartoon here.

That’s why they’re called advice (suggestions, free options) and not orders. You’d be well advised against acting on every advice received, except this one, obviously.
