Save them as a rich text file (.rtf), because it can be opened on all kinds of word as well as Mac and other systems.

If you are using “word”, please go get OpenOffice from http://www.OpenOffice.org/ instead. That way, people like me, who do not have M$ Word, can actually download and open and print exactly what you created, not some “translated” version that doesn’t always come out correctly. In addition Open Office contains a built-in PDF exporter.

Good point. Open Office is free. At home I have Ubuntu LInux with Open Office. At work I am forced to use Microsoft products.
