The article linked above is from a site that seems a little off (I’m guessing a white supremacist site from its name “National Alliance”?), so I’m not sure if it was true. It wouldn’t surprise me though if it was true.

So the book mentionied in the article about the Allied War Crimes and Eisenhower ordering the mass rape of German civilians isn’t true?
I googled the book for a review but couldn’t find any review on it.
First, that is a white supremacist website.
Second, it’s typically all about how bad the allies are, and no blame for the Axis. That’s the nature of propaganda. Direct emotion, do not stir intellect.
Third, all war is like this. You can be sure American servicemen are raping little girls in Okinawa still. The lawlessness of the battlefield during and after conflict is the perfect reward given to overgrown boys away from the watchful eyes of their family and community.

general patton at least observed the geneva convention. more than could be said for eisenhower. but he got strong jewish support for his successful run at the presidency, so who cares.
eisenhower also played a big role in the holocaust story. exagerating the nazis misdeeds never hurt anyone’s career.
Reminds me of that rumor about Eisenhower being Jewish because of in his college yearbook.

what happened on the eastern front is difficult to establish because of obvious soviet propaganda. i don’t doubt that there were rapes, but do doubt that they matched in any way the soviet ravages as the russians swept europe.

Yes, it was a joking nickname given to him by football buddies. He was of Swedish stock, and there is no evidence of his having Jewish anscestry or (if he did) that his family was aware of it. There is evidence that he was a teutonophobe, though.

good paper. why people don’t imagine the interned communists would have ruled the camps with an iron fist i’ll never know. and why many libertarians seem to believe soviet propaganda on the camps is also puzzling. allied propaganda was laid on pretty heavily, too.
the masses of emaciated corpses we all know from dachau, shocking though they are, do not tell the whole story. many inmates of dachau were in fair condition. it’s important to see the whole picture, not selective edits.
