I actually had no clue about this until wikipedia confirmed it.
I learned about it as a result of the whole Hoppe ordeal. Hoppe said something along the lines of Keynes saying “we’re all dead in the long run” can be explained by his homosexuality and hence high time preferance.
Interesting, but I’d rather see science back that up.
I do not know if this connection between time preference and homosexuality is valid or not but, if it is, it would be a good argument for allowing homosexuals to get married and adopt children.
Yes, that is what I thought too. Why one would want a child is beyond me, though.
There is a human instinct to rear young. The popularity of owning pets is, I think an outgrowth of this basic instinct.
Not to be a stickler, but one should not allow, one should stop interfering. The difference in terminology makes all of the difference when communicating with statists.
I understand your point. But, in our current paradigm, I am one who would support the government “allowing” or, if you prefer, “not interfering” in the marriage rights of another group of consenting adults. But, I do understand your point. It is sad we are forced to live in this paradigm.
Well I’ll stick to “owning” cats then. More brains, cleaner and less of an intrusion.
