Most Important [Political] Document

If you had to pick the most important political (if that’s what you’d like to call it) document ever written in history which would it be?

I would personally choose the Declaration of Independence because I feel like it really symbolizes a time when men freed themselves from government and authority in general, despite how I know many of you will disagree considering it does call for a ‘new’ government. I still believe that they had better intentions and actions that many others.

No Treason: the Constitution of No Authority by Spooner must be up there for most libertarians, I would assume.

Civil Disobedience by Thoreau is one of my favorites.

Wait, what is meant by political? I think Brian means political as in relating to actual government policy, and not general political theory.

If it is the former… perhaps the Magna Carta?

I think John Lockes treatises are highly significant as it paved the way for liberal democracies to spread starting with the US.

I was looking for documents relating to actual government policy, but general political theory would work for those who can’t thing of ones regarding the former. I feel like there have been a lot of posts regarding general political theory documents already.
