I was just watching a few Stefan Molyneux videos and, in one of them, he said, “[Environmentalists are] for nationalizing things despite the fact that the nationalization of the public parks almost destroyed the entire ecosystem.”
Does anyone have a few good sources/statistics that exemplify this statement? I remember reading something a while back about Central Park and its nationalization, but I don’t have the slightest clue as to what I should even search to find that result again.

I don’t have the link on me right now, but if you search through the Economics for High School Students lectures you should find one in which R. Murphy discusses how EPA regulations ended up backfiring. Essentially because certain animals lived on X plot of land, that portion of land couldn’t be developed. This produced a perverse incentive in the owners of the land to kill off said animals and never reporting that they were there to ensure they could use their property.
