I wish we had more over the top characters like him on Indian television, so that I’d consider watching television at all.
The videos of him on YouTube are amazing; this guy is hilarious.
I don’t even have to agree with a single word of his political views.
I just think that he helps rub the nose of stealthy Marxist commieagitprop “neoconservatives” of the United States; those people who think that their agendas of domino effects and international communism are justified by their self-assigned role as the right-wing good cops, notwithstanding, of course, that these communists had to label, as paleoconservatives, every person on the right who didn’t agree with a word they say/
Seriously, you won’t believe how much it irritates when I am on a videogame forum, and these American Satan-spawn appear out of nowhere when we are discussing D&D alignments about how our views on videogame choices and alignments are affected by our anti-religious and liberal militancy. You think I am making this up and this hyperbole, but I am not kidding you one bit. Entire computer roleplaying game threads derailed to discussing abortion by these jackoffs.
So I am glad that there’s men like Olbermann to divert their rage on a regular basis. Never mind, of course, that the Establishment ™ and the Illuminati ™ own both sides of media houses across the world and get two different people paid by them to cycle in the roles of good cop/bad cop, but I am all the glad that the Establishment chose this fine choice of angry machinegun-speed word firing anti-conservative as their pawn to amuse the General Public. I say again, Olbermann is awesome, hilarious, and lays some righeous ownage.[:D]
Something I noticed far to often here in Canada/US, is that people want to realize the “good vs. evil” or “hall of justice vs. legion of doom” in everything. It’s some kind of childish simpleton mentality. I don’t know how it took hold here, but after visiting places in Europe I found that most people don’t see conflicts in that manner, and they never see that narrative appear. Conflicts are always confusing, there are multiple sides to any story, and it’s never clear-cut as “good versus evil”. Everyone wants to be “the good guys” and they show how their moral superiority makes them correct and good. There is no realization of other values or value scales, never mind respecting them.
It’s quite possible that this Olbermann is himself a clueless airhead, but isn’t it so for everyone on TV?
All I know is that at least American “conservatives” are annoying and dislikable, while their opposites at least have a sense of humour, even though they have no understanding of economics and political philosophy.
Murray Rothbard once said in his film review of JFK that with an increasingly monolithic Moderate Right and Moderate Left that are inside the government, the Far Left and the Far Right are the only ones making sense, and thus it does not diminish the points of the movie that it was made by a “notorious leftist” like Oliver Stone.
Remember that it was Karl Marx who said that it’s “crack-brained meddling by authorities that aggravates an existing crisis” in his letter to Frederich Hegels; so we know that the crazier leftists hate the government elite enough to know that government intervention itself causes problems. Let’s ignore the fact that he thought abolishing property rights was the solution.
Of course, a TV anchor like Olbermann is probably a more of the Establishment’s appointed moderate left-wing good cop, but I am just praising the way he makes fun of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.
That is a lie. It has always been the small government right-wing that has opposed government intervention. It was left-wing socialists like Hitler and Pol Pot who were behind some of the worst mass murders of history. I see no reason to believe the socialism of Olbermann-type liberals will not lead to communist totalitarianism with the persecution of businessmen and loss of liberty. We already have implemented 8 of 10 Karl Marx’s planks in the Communist Manifesto.
I’m sorry, but I have to disagree here. I would rather have Glenn Beck’s and Sean Hannity’s America any day over the socialist fascist America of Olbermann.
You do realize that Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are two of the most insincere and fascist commentators on television/ radio. Not saying that Olbermann is any better though.
Every time I happen to see Olbermann on TV he’s whining about how the Democrats can’t get the healthcare bill done (this is the same with John Stewart to a lesser extent). While he may be bitter about the establishment there’s no doubt he’s a statist and a socialist. The inane thing is he’s just another media bobblehead who thinks he’s the voice of “the people”. It’s the classic kind of egoism that is used to justify government interventionism.
