I never particularly cared about schiff but I don’t support this. I don’t see how he can be called a libertarian when he support’s a clearly unjust war.Government war’s clearly contradict libertarian principles.I wouldn’t say he’s a Neo-con maybe that’s a bit far but he is pro-war here.
Rothbard said " rights might be universal but their enforcement should be local". When he said that he meant there should be no policing the world to protect rights. This is as bad as rand paul supporting a large military budget and saying the prisoners in guantanamo should have no rights under the constitution. we’re seeing yet another wave of selling out.
Invading and occupying Afghanistan to “arrest” one man IS NOT morally permissible. If you think it is- then you should also think it perfectly fine if one day The Iraqi government wanted to try George W. Bush for his crimes against them- and then went ahead and invaded and occupied the United States killing thousands of civilians in the process.

It’s called “Attention Deficit Disorder” [A.D.D.], a common [although treatable] condition.
An especially common condition, it would seem ,amongst “libertarians” , “anarcho-capitalists” etc. , and one that appears to be more or less automatically induced at the mere mention of numbers like “911”, or words like “Bin Laden” etc., when uttered in the same breath as phrases such as “unbiased scientific investigation of all the facts” , “the presumption of innocence of the accused” etc. etc.
Because it is obvious that the American government must stand helplessly as the Taliban continues to harbor a terrorist, that the American government has no right to bring bin Laden to a court of its choosing for the crimes that were committed not only against the targets of 9/11, but also the bombings of the American embassies in Dar es Salaam, Kenya, and Tanzania, and the attack on the USS Cole.
Its a different method, which might be debated as more prudent, but it does not necessitate the conclusion that the invasion of Afghanistan was morally impermissible.
And why do you believe that post even deserves a reply?
Except it does. The people of Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11.. those individuals that did could possibly be sort out and extracted, granted they actually did. Where is your evidence? Otherwise it’s just kidnapping and rendition.
Schiff is done. Dodd dropped out, for all intents and purposes, this campaign is over before it started. Schiff could try to run as a spoiler or to educate, but that’s not his style. I would rather he keep pumping books out and keep making television appearances. He has a much greater effect outside of politics than he would have within.
I would tend to agree. Not only because of Dodd dropping out, but also because he is running as a Republican. I actually think we are going to see a lot of independents start winning. People got sick of the Republicans after 6 years. It appears they are also sick of the Democrats after just 2 years, which is not long enough, I think, for them to have forgotten their hatred of the Republicans.
